GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 478336
Planner gets confused if multiple sub tasks have the same name
Last modified: 2009-11-18 11:49:03 UTC
Please describe the problem: If you create several subtasks with the same name eg: 1 Rollout to Customer X 1.1 Procure Hardware 1.2 Deliver Hardware to <Cust X Address> ... 2. Rollout to Customer Y 2.1 Procure Hardware 2.2 Deliver Hardware to <Cust Y Address> ... The two 'Procure Hardware' tasks are obviously different as they have different WBS task numbers but when you try to assign them as predecessors of their respective 'Deliver ...' tasks Planner get confused drawing its lines. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set 1.1 as predecessor to 1.2 2. Set 2.1 as predecessor to 2.2 3. Observe strange lines Actual results: It looks like pplanner tries to set both 'Procure Hardware' tasks as a predecessor. Expected results: Each task would be the predecessor of its logical successor Does this happen every time? It has so far Other information: I had to set the predecessor using the dialog as my tasks where only an hour long and there wasn't enough 'blob' to drag the arrow from...
If you change the names of the tasks the apparent confusion is resolved and the arrows point to the right places.
