Sorry, but I can not apply your patch. First of all we use latin quotation marks («») instead of the english ones "".
Second of all, only in few cases we add the quotation marks (or tags) when the developer hasn't added them.

Besides I'm opened the bug #474973 for GPM since there is no context to translate the string properly, as far as I can see from your patch and the source code.

I got the strange text when I tried to shutdown my machine pressing Power button while I was listening music with banshee. I got a message like:
"Banshee ha parado la power-button de tener lugar: Reproduciendo"

With the patch, I got:
"Banshee ha impedido que la acción "power button" se ejecute al estar: Reproduciendo"

I added quotation marks because "power button" is always show in english.

I will add my email to bug #474973 CC list :-)

Thanks for information

Then, if «power button» is always shown in English you're right, but it shouldn't!!!

Could you provide the three strings that GPM shows (in Spanish) so I can check wether my changes are correct?

Thank you very much for providing feedback.

Yes:

"Varias aplicaciones han parado la power-button de tener lugar."

And:
"Pedir a power-button"

(This one is shown as summary, with bigger fonts)
Comment 6 Jorge González 2007-09-08 23:16:08 UTC
With your feedback the strings would be:

has stopped the %s from taking place :
ha impedido que la acción de «%s» se ejecute al estar:
(Banshee ha impedido que la acción de «%s» se ejecute al estar: )

Multiple applications have stopped the %s from taking place.

Request to %s
Solicitud de «%s»
(Solicitud de «power-button»)

I think now it takes more sense than the original translation. As I said before, if the actions are in English they should between quotation marks, as provided in feedback also.

pacho: if you do not agree with these new changes, you're very welcome to comment again :)

Thanks.
