Description shane.neal 2007-09-08 15:42:09 UTC
Installed Gutsy, and found no audio. On one occasion, attempted playback of mp3 file, needed codecs, which I installed. The mp3 file played correctly. After shut-down, lost all audio. Performed tests in the "sound preferences" and received the following bug-report requests:

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer.

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=music: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer.

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer.

gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=GStreamer.

The hardware device manager reports the following audio hardware:

Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc
Device: IXP150 AC'97 Audio Controller
