GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 471366
Integrate sharing preferences
Last modified: 2011-02-08 11:37:50 UTC
Sharing files, sharing desktops... Apple does this well: http://www.thinksecret.com/archives/leopard9a527/image/system-preferences013.jpg
We should have: - desktop sharing prefs - file sharing prefs (from gnome-user-share) - bluetooth sharing prefs (to be added to gnome-user-share)

What about music sharing? IMHO this should also be system (or session) wide instead of application specific (e.g. why open rhythmbox to share music). G-U-S could provide a DAAP server (dbus?) service - and probably UPNP media in the future - which apps like Rhythmbox or Banshee could integrate with.

Right now it's not planned, and probably not a good idea at all. This has nothing to do with this bug though.
Closing this one as a duplicate of bug #636206 (since that one has some design discussion on there). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 636206 ***
