Description Benoît Dejean 2007-08-26 13:30:06 UTC
Hello, the current SSL certificate validation dialog when using POP3S or IMAPS doesn't provide detailed information. The only valuable information is the key but it would be much nicer to have a much more detailed view à la mozilla.
Thanks.

Agreed, the various problems with evolution and TLS connections aren't easily understandable. You're provided with not much information, and you can only accept/deny.

Accept is dangerous without knowing the error precisely, while deny is useless since the same dialog will be displayed just after that (I had that on 2.28, where the dialog would come in loop, without letting me the hability to fix the problem, and I had to kill evo)

So yes, it'd be nice if a large redesign of the various TLS-related popups was done, though it's not exactly an easy task and it's a bit touchy as it's security related.

Done for evolution 3.7.3+, the dialog has View Certificate now.
