I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2.

1. Move the account file via Windows Explorer to a new location.
2. Start up GnuCash.
3. Navigate to another window.
Problem: 4. Can't see the "GnuCash cannot find the file" error message until I minimise windows to get to it.

This goes for any error or alert message, and the splash screen.  It's a problem because I frequently have many windows open and maximised, so often I forget that I've opened it and will try again, with all the same problems.  Today, I only knew I opened it because I had to open the Task Manager for something unrelated, and I saw 'gnucash-bin.exe' and 'gconfd-2.exe' in there.

I suggested Alt-Tab vs. the Start bar because that's where other dialog boxen/splash screens tend to go, in my experience.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but the maintainers are still discussing ways to fix the bug.
