Description perryt 2001-09-10 01:00:38 UTC
When I enter an URL for the http protocol, such as "http://www.usatoday.com", I
get an error popup titled
"View Failed" with the message "The Web Page view encountered an error while
starting up." This is associated with a syslog message:
"modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-10". Apparently this module
is missing from the install.

* REPRODUCIBLE: Didn't try

* STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

I am running the Red Hat 6.2 distribution, upgraded with the 2.2.16
kernel. I installed the latest Ximian version of gnome immediately
prior to installing the Nautilus rpms this morning (Feb 15, 2001).
There were no errors during the installs.. no indication of a missing
dependency on net-pf-10.

Hi--

Can you include some more information:

1) Did you install using the Eazel installer or by hand?
2) What version of Mozilla do you have? (Do "rpm -qa | grep mozilla")
3) Does running mozilla normally on your system work?

I have no idea what the "net-pf-10" module is. Neither Nautilus nor Mozilla
require any kernel module.

Mozilla embedded in Nautilus is known to work on Redhat 6.2.

Marking WORKSFORME.

------- Additional Comments From duane@eazel.com 2001-03-12 14:51:23 ----

Verifying it WORKSFORME as well on Nautilus 0.9.1

Steps Taken To Verify:
1. Launched Nautilus
2. In the location bar typed 'http://www.usatoday.com'
-> The web page loaded up just fine.

I have the same problem and have for quite some time.
I've used both the installers and also the rpms from Mandrake. Currently
running version 1.0.

I have tried reinstalling mozilla and also the nautilus-mozilla module. Nothing
appears to clean it up (so far).
