GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 466715
"Active item" on the ComboBox does not work
Last modified: 2018-03-29 21:16:05 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I use select an "Active item" for a combobox widget, libglade does not do anything with it, and produces the following warnings: test_combobox_active_item.py:5: GtkWarning: gtk_tree_row_reference_new: assertion `GTK_IS_TREE_MODEL (model)' failed glade = gtk.glade.XML('test_combobox_active_item.glade', 'dialog') test_combobox_active_item.py:5: GtkWarning: gtk_cell_view_set_displayed_row: assertion `GTK_IS_TREE_MODEL (cell_view->priv->model)' failed glade = gtk.glade.XML('test_combobox_active_item.glade', 'dialog') Steps to reproduce: run the attached python script to see this happening. I expected the first comboboc item ("one") to be selected, and no error/warning would be produced. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? yes Other information:

*** Bug 417905 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
It looks like Bug 549478 and Bug 560298 are duplicates of this bug. Also, I am experiencing this bug with Glade 3.4.5 in Ubuntu 8.10.
Created attachment 128137 [details] XML file that gives an error when parsed.
I have just run across this bug as well. It appears to be a bug in GTK+ rather than glade. I've tested it out a bit using straight up XML files and the problem occurs there as well. I attached a file containing just the XML that causes the error.
The GNOME Release team has officially deprecated libglade in favor of GtkBuilder[1]. So it's unlikely to get further development. I am closing bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development. [1] http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.devel.announce/28
