Description ergosys 2007-08-14 03:58:24 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Unable to position horizontal scrollbar to most locations of a large movie.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a large mpeg2 (I used http://citric-acid.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/files/stroustrup.mpg - warning: 650M )
2. Attempt to scroll to somewhere in the middle
3. Scratch head

Actual results:
The program will either 1. Start at the beginning or 2. position at another seemingly random location. The length of the movie is also displayed incorrectly.

Expected results:
The scrolling should work correctly

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
I first noticed this when repeatedly pausing the player, after unpausing beyond a certain point (sorry I didn't write the location down), the player started at the wrong place.

The given mpeg2 (given above) plays correctly in gxine.

Comment 4 Christian Fredrik Kalager Schaller 2008-06-20 11:05:02 UTC
Probably a mpegdemux issue, marking as gst-plugins-ugly bug.
Comment 5 Edward Hervey 2011-05-16 18:58:07 UTC
ergosys, is this still an issue with current gstreamer ? Also, the file isn't available anymore
Comment 6 ergosys 2011-05-16 23:48:28 UTC
This is probably the same file:

http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/csclub/stroustrup.mpg

Opening in "Totem Movie Player", scrolling seems to work correctly (gstreamer 0.10.30).
