Description Pierre Sanon 2007-08-08 16:21:28 UTC
With the addition of gtkrecentmanager in gtk.
It is now time to add the recently used app functionality to the panel.

The minimalist patch attached will give long overdue feature to all gnome users.

Dear Panel maintainers, is there speaking anything from your side against the inclusion of this patch?
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2007-09-02 14:41:29 UTC
Only time. There are so many things to do, so many bugs here, and so many patches that it's impossible to have time for everything.

On the patch itself: it's probably better to abstract this in a new file (panel-recent-apps.c, eg). Also, I guess this works right now for launchers and menu items because it's using gnome-desktop, but in the future, this library will get deprecated and some gtk+ function will be used. It'd be interesting to know if GTK+ people agree to have some of this in gtk+ itself, or if we should handle this ourselves. (The latter might make more sense, to be honest)

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all
old feature requests in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you still use gnome-panel and if you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
