Description Ryan Muldoon 2001-09-10 00:58:07 UTC
The desktop handling code in Nautilus needs a method to snap icons to a grid.
Currently, Nautilus has "Clean up by Name", which is nice, but only if you don't
care how your icons are arranged. Many users (including me) like to group icons
by category, or some other method. If Nautilus could allow a clean alignment of
manually-placed icons, it would be very useful.

A nice feature that the other platforms have.

In addition to a general "snap-to-grid" option, it would be very cool to be
able to highlight a group of icons, right click, and choose "Align horizontal /
vertical / both". Even more cool would to be able to 'stretch' all those icons
at once as a group.
