GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 46212
should have a "tidy icons" option
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The desktop handling code in Nautilus needs a method to snap icons to a grid. Currently, Nautilus has "Clean up by Name", which is nice, but only if you don't care how your icons are arranged. Many users (including me) like to group icons by category, or some other method. If Nautilus could allow a clean alignment of manually-placed icons, it would be very useful. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2001-02-01 10:46:13 ---- A nice feature that the other platforms have. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:12:43 ---- QA Assigning to self. ------- Additional Comments From greg@brim.net 2001-04-15 20:00:03 ---- In addition to a general "snap-to-grid" option, it would be very cool to be able to highlight a group of icons, right click, and choose "Align horizontal / vertical / both". Even more cool would to be able to 'stretch' all those icons at once as a group. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:58 ------- The original reporter (rpmuldoon@students.wisc.edu) of this bug does not have an account here.
