Description dave 2007-07-30 20:33:33 UTC
I get Error while fetching mail dialogue plus comment "Failed to read a valid greeting from POP server mail.freeola.net" when I press send/receive. My Edit/Preferences are set to collect 11 addresses from one mail server.
If I deselect some of the addresses it works well but as soon as there are more that 6 to collect it fails. It doesn't matter which addresses I deselect so there isn't a problem with a particular address or a particular permutation of addresses. Is the system falling over itself, is there any way to slow or sequence the process? Regards David.

Distribution: Ubuntu 7.04 (feisty)

you could only disable some accounts. and you can complain to the administrator of freeola.net, but on the other hand i really miss the usecase of having 11 email addresses at the same server :)

I have the same issue. I have 12 email accounts, from 9 different servers, and get this error continually.

A lot of Google searching has shown many people with the same issue, but no solutions. The only suggestion that seems to work for some people is to reduce the frequency of checking mail. That didn't work in my case.

I have Evolution 2.12.1 running on Ubuntu 7.10.
