3. select "Bookmarks" -> "Hardware" -> "Hewlett-Packard" to view HP's web page

Result:
Following message displayed on console:
** WARNING **: bookmark uri is
http://services.eazel.com/redirect?http:/www.dell.com/linux, but expected

Remarks:
Similiar problem will happens if select "bookmark->software->IBM" then
"bookmark->software->Borland"

------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2001-01-25 14:57:13 ----

I don't think this is a PR3 blocker.

------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2001-01-25 15:02:31 ----

At least part of the problem seems to be in not understanding the meaning of "?"
and doing canonicalizing after the "?". I put a few checks of gnome-vfs's URI
functions in with FIXME and this bug number.

------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-01-25 15:43:20 ----

Lucky Gene gets to deal with canonicalizing URIs, at Pavel's suggestion.

------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-01-28 14:12:16 ----

I also noticed this problem. If you follow these steps:
1 - Go to Bookmarks/Hardware/Hewlett Packard
2 - Click on "HP's Linux Strategy"
3 - Hit "Back" in the toolbar

You see that the location is displayed as
"http://services.eazel.com/redirect?http:/www.hp.com/go/linux".  Nautilus knows
how to handle this, but if someone cut-n-pastes it into Netscape 4, a gray "Not
Found" screen results. (adding self to cc list)

------- Additional Comments From gzr@eazel.com 2001-02-07 09:24:58 ----

I am unable to reproduce. I follow the steps and see no warning. Also, when I
try the last step about clicking the link and hitting the back button, the URL
is displayed with the tailing slash. Brett or Tim, can you reproduce with a CVS
build?

------- Additional Comments From tim@eazel.com 2001-02-07 11:17:17 ----

I can't reproduced on CVS head of the bookmark problem. (It happens on PR3).
Also, I followed Brett's step, redirect has no problem in Netscape 4.75.

------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-02-07 12:54:49 ----

I also can't reproduce this on CVS head. Marking verified.
