What were you doing when the application crashed? I started up rhythmbox and pressed 'play'. I think this crash is due to it not being able to find my soundcard. I have the default sound device on my laptop set to a removable USB Plantronics headset that has a built-in soundcard. When the headset is not plugged in, rhythmbox crashes at startup. If the headset is plugged in, rhythmbox starts up fine.
