Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately it lacks some information that may help us in finding the cause of the bug. Can you, if possible, attach the file causing the crash? Also this may be a Poppler Bug (the backend used by Evince to render PDF), could you please supply the poppler version and type? You can find it in the Help->About menu in Evince.

poppler 0.5.4 (cairo) I can't attach the file that caused the problem, because of the contents of the file, but I have subsequently reopened the file using evince and acroread, and neither have caused any further problems. I am unable to duplicate.

Created attachment 95819 [details] PDF file that triggers the crash bug This PDF file was generated using these commands: ~:> convert paper-old.pdf page%02d.png // dissasemble PDF in PNG pages ~:> convert -page A4 page*.png paper-new.pdf // reassemble PNG pages in PDF ~:> evince paper-new.pdf // crash! paper-orig.pdf is a standard PDF file, generated by LaTeX; it opens correctly in Evince, but paper-new.pdf makes it to crash.

I don't have the sources with me, so if someone could look at it? I am ready to test out changes.

Mark it as fixed please. I cannot edit the entry myself. It is fixed in Fedora 8, having [dhaval@gondor personal]$ evince --version GNOME evince 2.20.1 [dhaval@gondor personal]$
It's indeed a poppler bug, I thought it was already closed as notgnome.
