http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=245724

Description of problem:
I can't send email using <Ctrl + Enter_on_numeric_keyboard> - I guess this is
OK (e.g. Sylpheed also don't send email using keyborad shortcut), but I'm not
sure if it is correct behaviour.

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. try to send email using <Ctrl+Enter_num_keyb>

Actual results:
nothing happens

Expected results:
email is send as with <Ctrl+Enter>
Comment 1 Matthew Barnes 2009-05-21 14:15:35 UTC
Not worth supporting. Closing as NOTABUG.
Comment 2 Mike Rooney 2009-06-24 21:53:30 UTC
Adding a key binding is not worth supporting? What does that mean exactly?
Comment 3 whatsinaname 2009-07-29 21:22:04 UTC
Of course it is a bug... open the File menu and see:

Send Ctrl+Return

Either

a) it is a bug that the file menu says so, or
b) it is a bug that pressing ctrl+enter does not send the message.
c) there is some mysterious key on my keyboard that I haven't found called "return"
d) we are all expected to have Apple keyboards.

This issue is still present.

Matthew, if you're still active on Evolution development, can you please give the rationale for "not worth supporting" as Mike requested (vs. e.g. "no resources available to implement", which should then mean leaving this bug open).

If not, can someone please re-open this bug.

The Return vs. Enter distinction is pretty much meaningless these days - almost all keyboards with both keys label the main key "Enter" if anything, and even non-numeric Macs have both labels if any.

As a consequence, the numeric Enter not working will be unexpected behaviour for most users. There is also no down-side to making it work.
