Description Scott Severance 2007-06-06 06:01:33 UTC
Every time I log in after rebooting, I get a prompt to enter a keyring password so that NetworkManager can access my WPA key. Network Manager should store its keys itself, so that it doesn't have to prompt for a password (Gnome Keyring is too dumb a program to provide users with such basic configuration options--therefore, it shouldn't be used at all).

I know that I can use libpam-keyring to silence the password prompt, but that's a hack, not a solution. As a user, I should be able to choose the level of security I want. And I don't see any significant security benefit to storing WPA keys in gnome-keyring.
