Description Ralph Sexton 2007-06-01 08:29:29 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have been told that this is an error with GTK+. I am running Windows XP and used the GTK+ 2.10.6, though I also tried running the program through GTK+ 2.6.10 with the same results.

The mouse works fine, and my tablet responds properly for all menu functions as well. However, in the GIMP window where painting the picture is actually done, the Y-Axis is inverted... if I go up, the circle where paint is applied goes down... and vice versa. The X-Axis (left and right) functions correctly however. As soon as I apply any paint stroke with the tablet, the mouse will no longer allow me to apply paint, though all other functions seem unaffected.

I have an AceCad Flair II tablet, if this makes much difference. It has simpler software than WaCom models, and does not have a puck... only a stylus. I also noticed that the pressure-sensitivity of the stylus didn't seem to get transferred to the painting.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start GIMP
2. Make any paint stroke with the stylus
3.

Actual results:
The problem manifests as mentioned above.

Expected results:
Sadly, I expect the problem to happen, as it is ever-presant.

Does this happen every time?
Yes, without fail.

This is not a gtk-engines issue. Reassinging to GTK+ win32 component.

This is a problem with your tablet drivers most likely. With Wacom tablets and the latest drivers GIMP in general works fine. You could try making sure you are using the very latest GTK+ binaries (2.10.12 currently). (Download from ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/binaries/win32/gtk+/2.10) But I am not sure that will help. There have been similar bug reports for non-Wacom tablets.

One similar bug report is bug #334988.

According to a user in the #gimp IRC channel, this does still happen with GTK+ 2.12.8
Comment 5 Michael Schumacher 2013-08-08 21:06:57 UTC
Does this still happen with a current GTK+ version?
