The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtkhtml3.14/+bug/107985 "I use the emote icon system in evolution quite a lot: it automatically replaces the text-emote with a graphic. I can also confirm this bug.
Hi, confirming this bug, it happens on Gentoo and update Ubuntu Feisty Fawn as well.
This continues to be an issue for Gentoo...
