What were you doing when the application crashed?
DL'd a pdf file from www.faucet.com (buying guide for kitchen faucets, linked from a Giagni brand faucet product).

Evince seems to work fine with other pdf files I have on board here.  I DL'd that file again, save it, then tried evince again, which crashed. Xpdf handled it with no problems.
