Description Bastien Nocera 2007-05-19 23:25:52 UTC
The volume widget (from bug 415775) needs volume icons to be added to gtk+ itself, and the names to be changed in its source code as well.

Jakub, got some Tango icons to add there?
Comment 1 Jakub Steiner 2007-05-20 08:10:17 UTC
The volume levels have been created for both tango icon theme (CC BY SA) and gnome icon theme (GPL). Are you asking for creating yet another set for gtk+ (LGPL?) :/
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2007-05-20 11:00:21 UTC
Wouldn't it be possible to relicense the existing icons?
Comment 3 Jakub Steiner 2007-05-21 07:38:08 UTC
The possibility may be there, I believe the authoris lapo Calamandrei.

But is it necessary to have those in gtk+ as opposed to icon themes? The naming is defined in the icon naming spec - http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2007-05-21 14:36:09 UTC
if the icons are used by widgets inside GTK+, I think it would be a good idea to have some version of them in the builtin icons. Of course, normally you'll get the
icons from the icon theme.
Comment 5 Matthias Clasen 2013-02-11 05:45:09 UTC
We do have some version of the audio-volume-* icons builtin to gtk now.
