GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 43948
Sometimes help:nautilus just shows gray content area
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
To reproduce: (1) Launch Nautilus (2) Type "help:nautilus" in location bar and hit Enter key Sometimes this works, and you see the first page of the Nautilus help in the content view (as displayed by Mozilla). Other times, the content view turns gray forever, and the window title and sidebar never update to show the real page title. I don't know the difference between the cases. I seem to hit the non-working case more often when using a debugger, for what it's worth. Perhaps an uninitialized variable or memory-trasher somewhere? ------- Additional Comments From aliabdin@aucegypt.edu 2000-10-24 02:22:47 ---- I've experienced this bug in the past, and it has only occured to me when within the debugger. I am not quite sure how to debug such a bug? (and it could be a general mozilla bug - have you tried loading a HTML file within Nautilus while in the debugger?) ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2000-10-24 10:56:59 ---- I haven't seen this any time recently on any web page other than the help ones. But I don't debug web stuff often so I might have just been lucky. I agree with Ali that the bug seems to happen more often when in the debugger -- I can't swear that I've ever seen it without the debugger. ------- Additional Comments From jfleck@inkstain.net 2000-10-24 20:25:35 ---- I've been unable to duplicate this bug, repeatedly using "help:nautilus" as well as typing "help" for many other apps for which there are gnome docs on my system, including both those with static html and those with sgml for which gnome-db2html is generating html on the fly. I never use the debugger. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2000-11-03 09:00:33 ---- Since nobody has been able to reproduce this problem recently, changing to WORKSFORME. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:46 -------
