Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-05-18 17:03:54 UTC
This is a tracking bug for a bug filed at mozilla.org: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381131

From that bug's report:

> Firefox trunk:
> Minefield version 3.0a5pre 20070517
>
> Reproduced Steps:
> 1. Launch Minefied
> 2. Press <F1> to open help window.
> 3. Press <F7> to turn on/off caret browsing.
> 4. Read the content with arrow keys.
>
> Respected Result:
> After #3,#4: Orca reads the content character by character with arrow keys.
> for example: name, should read as 'n','a','m','e'
>
> Actual Result:
> After #3,#4: Press arrow key quickly for some times and then Orca reads one
> character for several times continuously until you press arrow key.
> for example: name, should read as
> 'n','n','n','a','a','a','m','m','m','e','e','e'

I cannot reproduce this problem. Therefore, I'm going to ask for a full debug.out to be attached to our bug here.

Thanks Lijuan. You indicated in the Mozilla bugzilla that you were using Orca 2.18.1. I can confirm that the problem does exist in that version of Orca; however, it seems to have gotten fixed at some point along the way. I cannot reproduce this issue in the current version of Orca (2.19.3 pre). Would you mind giving the latest Orca from svn trunk a try and see if the problem still exists for you? Thanks!

On the Mozilla bug, Tim Miao said:

Therefore, I'm closing this out as OBSOLETE. Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.

Thanks!
