Description Vergil Mueller 2007-05-17 19:55:53 UTC
I am an engineering student and I take notes using a combination of Dia and Abiword. I would like to be able to draw something in Dia, select it, and then drag-and-drop it onto a Abiword document so that it embeds in the file in a common graphic format, like SVG.

Somebody on the Abiword bugzilla site said that Abiword supports drag-and-drop and SVG, but that Dia has to be able to copy a selected diagram to the clipboard as an SVG in order for that to work. Is that true? Are there plans for drag-and-drop support to export out of dia?

*bump*

No, there are no such plans, but patches would probably be accepted. However, SVG might not be the best choice for this, as rendering varies a lot between renderers, and no renderer I've seen so far actually respects the string width attribute.

No drag-and-drop but Copy&Paste is working by the fix of bug 336304
