Description John Williams 2007-05-16 02:42:03 UTC
Often my Inbox shows a non-zero count of unread messages (in the treeview sidebar) but the folder view shows no unread messages. This however when I check the email account with another client (Outlook) I can see the unread messages (i.e. the count is correct).

I connect using evolution-exchange.

Thanks,

John

Ubuntu Feisty/Evolution 2.10.1

I also have this issue (it has been going on for several version of Evo)
For me, it *only* ever happens with the Exchange mailbox, and *only* using the exchange connector.
I also have a pop mailbox account and even when the exchange message count goes wrong, the pop count is still working.

If I use imap to access the mail box on the exchange server it does not do this.

It is as though the sidebar has retreived the new mail count, but cannot get the mail list windows to refresh.

The only fis (I have found) is to close evo and restart.

ATM I am trying to get debug message, but I have never been able to get one yet.

This bug affects me too.

My local inbox shows an unread count of 1 but there are no unread messages in it.
The Account uses simple POP3. Same thing happened to a virtual folder.
Restarting evolution does not solve anything.
It _might_ have something to do with a backup of evolution I used recently. Yet the problem did not occur immediately after I restored the backup, but about two days later. (So it really just _might_ have to do something with the backup.)

If you can tell me how I can provide more information, I'll gladly do so :)

I'm a imap user and this bug affects me since Evolution 2.24.1. I just installed recent Ubuntu development version 9.04 with Evolution 2.24.2 and the bug is there too.

Last Version without the bug was Evolution 2.22.

for exchange provider bug 581908 fix should help. It's worth trying when 2.28.0 comes out, current unstable version is 2.27.5

Guys, I'm believing this issue has been with by now. Please reopen if it appears on a more recent version of evolution. thanks in advance.
