What were you doing when the application crashed?
every time I restart the pc,the  deskbar crashes as soon as I login.
then I have to manually remove the directory
"~/.gnome2/deskbar-applet/handlers/"
and logout/login again

I apologize for the inaccuracy:
logout/login is useless (the application crashes as soon as I log in)
but issuing
* killall deskbar-applet
then the applet automatically restarts and works fine.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade for tracker.
