Basically, I want to be able to say:
This transaction for this item is for /this/ reason. Ex.

I buy some beers - $30 for a weekend getaway

In the register:

EFTPOS LOCAL PUB WHEREVER       ACCOUNT      DEPOSIT         WITHDRAWAL
                                Savings                        $30
                                Alcohol      $30
Tags: Holiday, Weekend


I open a report for all the transactions for "Holiday, Weekend" 
and i can clearly see how much that holiday weekend has cost me.

This request has already been recorded. Also, searching for Transactions with certain keywords in it should already be possible with the "Search" function (I think).
