Please describe the problem:
As normal user I plug in the USB connection to a SanDisk e250. Popup says, "You are not privledged to mount the volume 'Sansa e250'

Steps to reproduce:
1. plug it in
2. 
3. 


Actual results:
as described above

Expected results:
device directory accessible through /media/Sansa_E250

Does this happen every time?

As far as I can tel (via lshal) the device has been recognized correctly.

Here's the problem.  In fstab there was an entry for the USB device being used. The entry, as it happened, was for a block device, and the MP3 player is a character device.  Removing the entry permitted the mount to proceed.

Defaulting show_details to TRUE in gnome-mount.c would have made the problem obvious, and saved me considerable pain.

"gnome-mount" will not see active development anymore according to its developers (as HAL is also dead).

the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
