attached mail causes CPU load and memory waste

Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Evolution and get a piece of mail with the wrong kind of html in it. 2. Evolution hangs and the CPU goes to 100% while it says, "formatting message" 3. Ubuntu barely functions while this message is selected. Say - there needs to be a better way of filing bugs. With XP the system would automatically log the crash state and offer to send in the report. Why cant Ubuntu do the same thing? Save a lot of man hours on both sides, don't you think?
sounds like the html parser runs into an endless loop with high memory usage. If an application *crashes* you certainly get a crash dialog in Ubuntu, too. but apparently evolution did not crash, it did slow down tremendously. thank you for supplying the message causing this, this is really helpful for developers.
I am also experiencing a similar problem with a particular html email. It is a "weekly specials" type email which hangs every week. When the email is clicked on Evolution stops responding and starts to use 99% of CPU and

I get this as well, on emails that Amazon sends me every so often. I put the email into a separate file and removed all the account info (I hope!) and imported it as an mbox file, and it still has the same problem. Note I'm not loading images so it's not that; this is a bug in the HTML display engine that Evo is using. I'm attaching the email.
I forgot to mention: I've tried this with the latest Evo 2.11.4 code, plus the latest libsoup, gtkhtml, evolution-data-server, evolution-exchange, and evolution-webcal checked out from SVN as of a couple of days ago (and there don't seem to have been any updates since then). This is not a fixed problem.

Created attachment 99013 [details] [review] proposed gtkhtml patch for gtkhtml; I do not see any visual difference between result with patch and without patch, maybe the call to recalculate the size of the object is there obsolete now? It's quick enough without that call so it works just fine.
