Version: 2.18.1 What were you doing when the application crashed? I had a file browser open. I then clicked on my home directory in the "places" panel. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, the stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Could you please help fixing this by installing some debugging packages [1], start the application as normal, and try to reproduce the crash, if possible? Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the 'Details', now containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a comment here. Thanks in advance! [1] Please install the following debug packages provided by Fedora: nautilus-debuginfo, glib2-debuginfo, gtk2-debuginfo, pango-debuginfo, gnome-vfs2-debuginfo, libgnome-debuginfo, and libgnomeui-debuginfo. More details can be found here: http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces

I have been trying to recreate the bug without success. I will let you know when and if I am able to get additional debugging information. Dave

From some duplicates duplicate ** ERROR **: file fm-tree-model.c: line 1531 (fm_tree_model_unref_node): assertion failed: (node->ref_count > 0) so, bang, this is a duplicate... :) ^^ *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 356672 ***

@nazgul: in bug 356672 comment 221 you say that some dups were 2.18 and that it should be fixed in 2.20. why? comment 113 says that the fix is already in 2.16.2. so in my opinion, this is a different issue, or bug 356672 should be reopened?

on the other hand, bug 417530 also seconds the "fm-tree-model.c: line 1531" one, but that report is from 2.17.x, released also way after 2.16.2. damn, confusing.
