Description Dan Nicholson 2007-04-22 23:11:05 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When using the browser plugin to access movies, I get no output. The output on the console shows "** Message: totem_embedded_set_error: 'An error occurred', 'The movie could not be read.'". However, saving the same clip locally and playing it directly through totem works.

totem-2.18.1, firefox-2.0.0.3, xine-lib-1.1.6

Steps to reproduce:
1. Find remote testcase, e.g. http://www.v2v.cc/~j/theora_testsuite/320x240.ogg
2. Save file locally
3. Play file locally through totem and remotely through the browser plugin.

Actual results:
First on works, second doesn't.

Expected results:
Both work.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Output log from firefox

Here's the output from the plugin. This:

** (totem-plugin-viewer:3574): WARNING **: Error in bacon_video_widget_play: There is no plugin to handle this movie.

seems really suspicious since I know I have the necessary plugins.
