The sort function does not preserve the associated hyperlinks.

Example:

Cell A1 contains the value "2" and has a hyperlink "www.google.com".
Cell A2 contains the value "1" and has a hyperline "www.bluewin.ch".

After I sort the range A1..A2 with key column A and "sorting preserves format",

Cell A1 contains the value "1" and has still hyperlink "www.google.com".
Cell A2 contains the value "2" and has still hyperline "www.bluewin.ch".

Hyperlinks are considered formats. Since you chose "sorting preserves formats" none of the cell formats are changed, ie. they remain in place. If you unselect "sorting preserves format" then the formats will migrate with the content.
