GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 427578
D-Bus event/action plugin
Last modified: 2018-05-24 12:31:00 UTC
I have written a plugin for RB that currently pauses RB when the the screensaver turns on. This is very useful for when you are away from your computer, or leave the office, etc. It utilises DBUS to decide when the screensaver is on/off. I have written it in a manner which should allow easy extension, and possibly be distributed with multiple defaults which can be configured (for e.g. turn music off if the battery is low on a laptop, or import contents of a USB disc when plugged in, etc.) Other information: the plugin can be downloaded from http://platform.whijo.net/~radbrad/rhythmbox/dbusevents.tar.gz
You need to untar the plugin to /usr/lib/rhythmbox/plugins/ (where it should be in it's own subdirectory called dbusevents) you need to have python-dbus installed (i.e. the Dbus bindings for python)
