GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 418821
crash in Deskbar: Deskbar is crashing any ...
Last modified: 2007-03-16 19:26:44 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed? Deskbar is crashing any time I type ".com" (without the quotes) into it. For example, I can type "google" but "google.com" makes the deskbar crash. Distribution: Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy) Gnome Release: 2.16.1 2006-10-02 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0 Memory status: size: 0 vsize: 0 resident: 0 share: 0 rss: 0 rss_rlim: 0 CPU usage: start_time: 0 rtime: 0 utime: 0 stime: 0 cutime:0 cstime: 0 timeout: 0 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 0 Traceback (most recent call last):

More Info: These crashes only appear to happen when I use the "Entry in Panel" option and another plugin displays a result before the web plugin displays one. Several plugins appear to cause this conflict. Among them are Dictionary and Beagle. If I turn the web plugin off in the preferences, all the other plugins play nicely with each other. If I turn all the other plugins off, the web plugin works just fine. If I use the "Button in Panel" mode everything works fine. Crashes only occur when using the "Entry in Panel" option and the Web plugin with other plugins. How to reproduce (on my system at least): Change the layout to "Entry in Panel" in the View tab of the preferences Turn on the Web Plugin and the Beagle plugin in the Extensions tab of the preferences. Type google.com in the deskbar. Crash
