Description SendDerek 2007-03-14 19:49:15 UTC
I would love to see an option that will automatically scan a specific folder (including subfolders) and then import new photos into f-spot's library.

Please give more details. How do you envision starting this rescan or reimport? Would you expect to use the normal inport method or another method?

What I envision is an option within the preferences that says something to the effect of "Automatically Scan for Folder Changes and Import into F-Spot" and then there would be a check box followed by a "Browse" button to specify the folder to watch.

Then, when I copy more pictures from my camera into a subfolder of that specified folder, it would automatically detect those changes made and import the new pictures into the library so that I could browse and edit them.

To be more specific, it might also be a good idea to include an option similar to the import options now that gives the user the option to copy the image file into the "Photos" folder or just import without copying.

Google's Picasa has the option to "watch for folder changes" and I would like to see something very similar to that in F-Spot. If you're wanting a better idea of exactly what I'm talking about, play around with Picasa's import features a little bit if you can or are willing.
