GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 418246
Keyboard shortcuts not respected on keyboard with french layout
Last modified: 2007-06-17 15:47:59 UTC
On a keyboard with a french layout, the 'q' and 'a' keys are switched. Same for 'z' and 'w' keys. Open gedit, type some text. Hit ctrl+a. All the text is selected. Good. Close gedit. Open gedit, type some text. Hit ctrl+q. All the text is selected. Bad. Same problem occurs with ctrl+w and ctrl+z: both shortcuts are reverting the last action. I don't know why it's broken and I didn't look at the code. Hrm. I suspect a GTK+ bug, since this is also happening in file-roller. Are you using GTKUIManager/GtkAction?
Vincent: sorry for the very late reply. Yes, we are using GTKUIManager/GtkAction. I don't see any reason why this problem should happen in gedit a part from a bug in gtk+.
Oh, yes. That's a duplicate of bug 162726. I believe you told me about it on IRC a few weeks ago :-) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 162726 ***
