Weird crashes with Gnome 2.18, possibly bindings-related

This is a tracker bug for a serious of mysterious crashes people are seeing with Gimmie and Gnome2.18. They are all of the form: <random-useless-one-call-backtrace> TypeError: <lambda>() takes exactly 1 argument (2 given) I have no idea how to track this down. Seeking help. Jamesh, any idea what this might be?
This is happening for me all of the sudden (just upped to r354, I don't know what rev I was at before that). I am on GNOME 2.16.1 (Ubuntu 6.10). For me, it is happening pretty much any time I open *anything* from any part of Gimmie. It will successfully bring up my Tomboy note, or my text file, or my GNOME Terminal instance, and then promptly crash with that lovely error. If I have more time this weekend I'll step through the revisions to find out when it started for me. Also, please let me know if I should make this a separate bug, since I'm on GNOME 2.16.
I'm seeing this all the time too. Happend in Gnome 2.16.1 (Edgy), but seems to occur more frequently in Gnome 2.18 (Feisty). I'm running in applet mode. Q1. Is it possible to run gimmie in applet mode from the command line. I'm thinking it might yield more debug info.
Don't know if this is any help but. If I only (from fresh restart of gimmie) use the people or linux menu, gimmie does not crash. But as soon as I've clicked on either library or programs, gimmie crashes the next time something is invoked from ANY of the menus....
Hmm, downgraded from SVN r354 to 0.2.4 from official ubuntu repos, and this seem to have helped alot.
