This bug was reported to the Debian BTS.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=399103

This request for changing PCM volume with buttons 6 and 7 by scrolling was filed in the Debian BTS.

What is horizontal scrolling? The applet already handles scroll-event (default scroll, probably "vertical").
Comment 2 Sven Arvidsson 2007-03-08 17:28:46 UTC
I believe this refers to the ability of some touchpads and a few mice which can scroll horizontally.
Comment 3 Eric Piel 2008-06-01 12:05:47 UTC
Associating another channel/device to other button seems like a hell to implement nicely in the preference window. I propose however, to reuse the idea of horizontal scrolling to vary the balance, cf bug 409431 .

If the user wants to control several channels/devices, she has to put several mixer applet in her panel.
