GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 415641
Some podcasts are not downloaded to dirs at VFAT partitions
Last modified: 2008-09-07 11:14:16 UTC
Please describe the problem: When Rhythmbox tries to download podcast, it tries to create a directory named in the same way as podcast. It causes problems from time to time, e.g. when podcast's title contains "|" sign, and you specify download directory on e.g. VFAT filesystem. VFAT has some limitations on file/dir names, so rhythmbox just don't download podcast. It's annoying, because most of portable players use FAT as their filesystem. Propably there are other signs that should be removed from file/dir names. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Rhythmbox 2. Set podcast's download dir to any dir placed on VFAT partition 3. Try to download podcast http://www.polskieradio.pl/trojka/swiat/podcast.aspx Actual results: Podcast is retreived, but all files have status of "pending" instead of "downloading". Expected results: Podcast should be downloaded Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Ubuntu 6.10
