Rendering for Indic Language is not Good, (render correctly, but word mixup)
Last modified: 2010-01-04 02:06:01 UTC
Please describe the problem: yelp is showing Punjabi (indic) rendering correct, but Words are mixup with other (next) word Steps to reproduce: 1. run gnome-power-manager in Punjabi 2. click on Help 3. goto Introduction Actual results: Characters are Mixed up (for Punjabi) with each other Expected results: should not happen so, but like Gedit rendering Does this happen every time? yes, Other information: Printing also have same issue
Hi, Do you have an example rendering in yelp vs. correct rendering? Is the associated XML file correct? Does firefox / epiphany show similar problems? We use firefox as our rendering engine. I suspect this is a firefox issue (but am open to being persuaded otherwise). Marking as NEEDINFO for the requested screenshot.
There are some known RTL issues with gnome-doc-utils that I'm trying to address. The problem you describe may be a result of those issues.
Created attachment 88934 [details] Firefox (XML) and yelp
Please check file: file:///usr/share/gnome/help/gnome-power-manager/pa/gnome-power-manager.xml package:gnome-power-manager-2.19.2-1.fc8 Firefox/Epiphany rendering was ok, but Yelp showing mixup where TAG added.
There were a lot of RLT fixes recently. Is this still a problem?
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME 2.28.2 or later, thanks.
