GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 412938
Super shortcuts displayed as Alt
Last modified: 2007-03-01 17:55:02 UTC
Please describe the problem: If you set a shortcut using the Super Key in gconf in Keyboard Shortcuts this will show up as <Alt>Foo. Steps to reproduce: 1. Edit something in /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/ to use Super 2. Look at "Keyboard Shorcuts" 3. Claims the shortcut uses Alt Actual results: Expected results: The shortcuts should be displayed correctly. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Perhaps related to 165343.
Cannot reproduce with 2.17.92. What does the shortcut (with super) look like in gconf? Bug 165343 is not related.
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_terminal <Super>e In Keyboard Preference the Alt/Win key behavior is set to "default".
You can't use shortcuts with Super as modifier (and in that case this is indeed bug 165343). It shouldn't use Alt as a replacement anyway, but it doesn't do so here, so this may have been fixed in recent versions. Marking as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 165343 ***
What do you mean by "can't"? The shortcuts I defined that use Super as a modifier are functional.
If apps actually think Super is Alt on your setup, that's not really surprising...
