Description Alexey Rusakov 2007-02-28 01:39:39 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Not sure whether this bug is really about a window list, but the problem is observed in it. Feel free to move the bug.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make some window to require your attention (so that it glows in the window list).
2. Hover with the cursor over another window nearby, _so that a tooltip displays over the glowing rectangle_.
3. Click on that other window, so that it gains focus and (more important) the tooltip disappears.

Actual results:
The window that was just glowing, stops once step 3 is accomplished, with some colour from the range of fade in/fade out colours. There is a greyish (in Clearlooks) rectangle in the place where tooltip was. After any changes to the window list, glowing goes on.

Expected results:
Window goes on glowing, with no artifacts on it.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Nearly fix this

This works when the glowing effect has stopped (new feature in trunk), but not when the loop is still active.

Is there a reason this patch is not committed yet?

Because the patch doesn't work in all cases, as I mentioned when I attached it :-)

Does this patch break anything? It's almost a year since this patch have been applied to libwnck in our (ALT Linux) distribution, and no any user complains :)
Comment 6 Vincent Untz 2008-11-19 16:07:21 UTC
It probably doesn't break anything, but I'd need to take a close look again...
