GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 412233
Accerciser text/fix accessibility of plugin dialog
Last modified: 2007-07-05 19:40:47 UTC
Is there a keystroke to active the comboboxes in the plugin manager dialog table? If not, we need to use another widget so an AT user can manipulate the layout of the main window.
The normal keystroke is alt+down right? It does not work. Maybe we could add a selection interface to this widget. Would that be intuitive?
Alt-Down should be the key. It doesn't work for me either. I'm not sure what you mean by selection interface.
Last night, we discussed the possibility of making a popup menu appear on the page tab itself with options to move it to an existing area or to move it to a new window. The option to move it to a new window would cause a text entry box to popup and allow the user to input a new name. This would resolve the problem with the combos for moving plugins. But the same problem exists with the combos for the hotkeys now too. I think just a standard popup menu would be appropriate for the hotkeys. All keys should be somewhere in the list. The convenience of being able to type the key isn't critical since the user will hardly ever change it once it is set.
Latest patch to show a popup on the page tabs themselves to move them does not work with the keyboard right click key. Also, focus rectangle is no longer drawn on page tabs, making it hard to tell which is selected (e.g. for a mag user).
I just reverted the popup menu on the page tab. I'll open a new bug for it to implement this feature properly in a future milestone since this would be an added feature.
Bumped, for now.
Closing for the meantime. There should be enough accessible methods for changing plugin views, etc.
