Description Wouter Bolsterlee (uws) 2007-02-25 15:03:13 UTC
The applet menu should show the current keybindings (if any) for the items present in the menu, eg. "search notes" and "new note".

some fixes

It looks like the code has some copy/paste errors. This patch tries to correct those... however it still doesn't work as it should.

Let's pick this one up for the next release (0.8.0).

Ping?
Comment 7 Benjamin Podszun 2009-02-16 22:54:09 UTC
The patch is obsolete as far as I can see, but the relevant issue is that keyboard shortcuts are still not shown in the tray menu. In addition I'm unable to find a good way to remove a defined shortcut.
This area needs work, might be to late for this circle. On the other hand it's (probably) not that hard and won't change the UI/strings, so I'm adding this to my list of tasks.
Comment 8 Sandy Armstrong 2009-08-24 06:11:16 UTC
Still doable this cycle, btw, if anyone wants to help.

We are talking about the key bindings for New Note, search etc. They are now called "Hot Keys" right?

So I would like to see the preferences automatically detect the keys as you type when editing the "Hot Keys". Currently you have to type in the name and for example I want to use the Windows Key.

We're talking about showing those hot keys in the tray's note menu.

Yeah, this would be nice, but should be a different bug. Keybindings could use a ton of work in general, especially for Mac users.

I am seeing the shortcuts in both the panel menu and the Tray menu in 1.7.0 (git master)
