GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 41174
archives created by gzip/bzip2 methods have hard-coded settings
Last modified: 2008-09-06 19:13:39 UTC
Level of deflation is all set by constants. It's not clear how module-specific parameters like this should fit into gnome-vfs. There's a FIXME about this. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-06-05 14:40:27 ---- FIXMEs in both gzip and bzip2 about this ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-06-06 11:32:36 ---- If we decide not to do this, that's OK, but if we do it, it will affect the gnome-vfs API so we need to do it soon. ------- Additional Comments From darin@bentspoon.com 2000-07-31 14:01:25 ---- These settings affect the compression level (and also perhaps the performance and memory use of the compression code) of files you add to existing archives using gnome-vfs; for example, files you drag in within Nautilus. ------- Additional Comments From yakk@yakk.net 2000-12-20 17:03:25 ---- Moving to my new Bugzilla account ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:33 -------
gnome-vfs has been deprecated and superseded by gio/gvfs since GNOME 2.22, hence mass-closing many of the gnome-vfs requests/bug reports. This means that gnome-vfs is NOT actively maintained anymore, however patches are still welcome. If your reported issue is still valid for gio/gvfs, please feel free to file a bug report against glib/gio or gvfs. @Bugzilla mail recipients: query for gnome-vfs-mass-close to get rid of these notification emails all together.
