Distribution: Unknown
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.12.0 2.12.x
Gnome-Distributor: SUSE
Synopsis: panel drawers appear on wrong screen in twinview
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Menu
Bugzilla-Version: 2.12.x
Description:
Description of Problem: I have an nvidia GeForce FX Go5200 graphics card
in my laptop. I have it configured at Twinview, so that the two
displays appear to be adjacent to one another. If I have them
configured (via nvidia-settings) so that the CRT appears to be above
(1600x1200_60 +0+0) the laptop display (1920x1200_60 +0+1200), then when
I open a drawer in the panel (placed on the left edge of the laptop
screen), then the drawer contents are incorrectly displayed on the wrong
screen. If I configure the displays so that the CRT appeart to the
right of the laptop display, then opening the drawer correctly shows the
drawer contents adjacent to the drawer.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. configure a 2nd display so that it's above the primary display.
2. position the main panel on the left of the primary display.
3. open a drawer that is placed on the panel.

Actual Results: The drawer is positioned in the middle of the main
panel, which is on the left side of the primary screen. Drawer contents
appear in the middle of the bottom edge of the secondary screen, nowhere
near the drawer.

Expected Results: The drawer contents should appear adjacent to the
drawer when the drawer is opened.

How often does this happen? Every time the displays are configured to be
above/below instead of left/right of one another.

Additional Information: Lonni Friedman at Nvidia says it's not Nvidia's bug because their driver is supposed to make the screens appear as one giant screen to linux.
