A preference named "fully decorate remote views" has snuck into Nautilus. This
is not a good preference, as I for one can't tell what it means. Probably
something about doing less work in remote cases for performance reasons.
Somebody who knows what this means will have to either find a way to express it
that is clear, or remove it.

We invented a plan for this and related issues. I'm going to tweak the wording
on this one and then write up bugs for the rest of the plan.

I will speculate that this preference is now the "Local Files Only" option for
Speed Tradeoff's "Show Text In Icons" and "Show Thumbnails For Image Files"
preferences.
