Description John Sullivan 2001-09-10 01:22:32 UTC
The Properties window only shows modified date. It should also show (somewhere)
the other two stored dates -- "changed" and "accessed". It should not repeat
GMC/KDE's mistake and call changed "created" though.

I only see modified and accessed date. I don't feel comfortable verifying this
bug as currently summarized.

------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-25 08:33:08 ----

The so-called "changed" date is very strange -- it's the date that the file
last had its contents modified (same as "modified" date) or that the file
last had its file node info (permissions, owner, group) changed,
whichever is newer. Rather than have a field for the changed date itself, I
reflect its value on the permissions page, in the "last changed" field near
the bottom. If the changed & modified dates are the same, this says
"unknown". If they are different, this shows the changed date.

Thanks for the explanation. What I didn't realize is that the "changed" field
was on a different properties tab. I'll verify the functionality as described
in your most recent comments.

These fields work as described, which I verified by comparing the output from
the stat command. However, I never see an "accessed" datestamp reported for
directories.

------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-26 13:23:42 ----

I know very little about these unix details. It's possible Nautilus is doing
something wrong with accessed dates in directories.

------- Additional Comments From brett@eazel.com 2001-02-26 13:55:58 ----

Verifying this bug and forking off the missing "accessed date" for directories
to a new bug.
