GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 406567
balance sheet calculation incorrect
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:26:19 UTC
Please describe the problem: Entering bond mutual fund opening balances. No entries in the price database. 24,725.171 shares with basis $309,253.77. Balance sheet shows Assets = $309,253.76 and Total Equity = $309,253.77. If I edit the number of shares in the ledger without actually changing the number of shares (i.e., delete the "5" and immediately reinsert it), the basis (Buy) changes to $309253.76 which balances but is incorrect. The value in the Accounts page remains correct ($309,253.77). Steps to reproduce: 1. Created empty Assets, Liabilities, Income, Expenses, Equity, Retained Earnings Opening Balances account under Equity. Broker account under Assets. Mutual Fund under Broker. 2. Mutual Fund opening balance = 24,725.171 shares, Buy = #309,253.77 3. Actual results: Balance sheet shows imbalance: Assets = $309,253.76 and Total Equity = $309,253.77. Expected results: Balance sheet should be balanced Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Balance sheet is incorrect if Buy = $309,253.72 or $309,253.73 or $309,253.77 or $309,253.78 May be similar to problem #309863.
Yes, that's probably the same bug. Also, version 1.8.x is outdated - 2.0.x have been released for almost a year by now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 309863 ***
Rounding error problem still present in 2.0.2. Commodity scu does not seem to have any effect. I have it set at 1/1000.
