Comment 1 Francesco 2007-01-29 10:06:43 UTC
When I change user with the applet in the gnome bar, I can't come back
to the original user because the system freezes (I have to power off and
reboot)

How do you know this is a GDM bug and not a bug with the fast-switch-applet?
It could also be a bug with your Xserver. Please look in your /var/log/xorg.log to see if there is a failure with the Xserver.

Also, try to turn on Enable=true in the [debug] section of your configuration file, and see if there are any useful GDM error messages echoed to the system log (/var/log/messages or /var/adm/messages depending on your OS).

Do you see any core files in your $HOME directory, the root (/) directory, /var/lib/gdm, or /var/lib/log/gdm? If so, a stack trace of the core file would be helpful.

Downgrading bug since user is not responsive. I will close this bug if no feedback. I have heard of no other user complaining about this sort of issue, so it is more likely with their system configuration than a GDM bug.
